Woodlands High School

Woodlands raises nearly £500 for charity in one week.

A host of events have last week raised more than £250 for Operation Christmas Child and more than £200 for Child in Need.

The week of fund raising started with Assistant Head Mr Ellis "facing" at table-full of shaving foam pies with learners and staff lining up to take their turn. Next Mr Lewis suffered with 50 minutes of leg waxing. Thanks to their efforts Woodlands has enough money to send all its Christmas boxes filled by form classes.

Operation Christmas Child also benefited by more £100 from a Great British Bake Off Cake sale in the parent cafe.

By the end of the week a Bring and Buy Sale and a Spotty Day on Friday helped to raise more than £200 for BBC Children in Need charity.
